When To Move To Be Near Your Man: The Decision Khloe Kardashian Must Make

Khloe’s big sister moved east to be with her fiance — but should she do the same?
Khloe Kardashian might have a tough decision to make in the next few months. There’s talk that her NBA star husband, Lamar Odom, may be traded from the LA Lakers to the Philadelphia 76ers, in which case Khloe may have to leave Los Angeles and head east like big sister Kim did for her man, Kris Humphries. So when should you move for a guy?

It’s true that Kim, 30, has been mostly living a bic0astal life since meeting New Jersey Nets player Kris, 26. There’s no reason that Khloe, also 26, wouldn’t be able to do the same. Their parents, as well as sisters Kourtney, Kendall and Kylie and brother Rob are all still in California, and the Kardashians (as we all know) are a close-knit unit.

But does Khloe have to move at all? Well, yes, unfortunately. As much as this born and bred Cali girl might hate the thought of moving east for the cold Philadelphia winters — or, even worse for her temperament, there’s talk that Lamar may be traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves — she is married, and there are certain concessions you have to make when you have a partner.

Kim ended up making a smart decision in the end, too. She had such a strong connection with Kris, and it was possible for her to do her job in both New York and Los Angeles, so she made a leap for love.

But if you’re just starting to date someone, or you have to give up your career for love, don’t do it. There’s no guarantee that your relationship will last, and you need to take care of you first. You need to be happy with who you are and where you are in life before you can start changing your life for another.

Now, if your long-term boyfriend is forced to move to another state because of a job, and marriage is in the cards for you, then then you should probably consider a move. Look for jobs in his area. See if your company has a division in his new city. You don’t want to lose someone you’re serious about simply because of a change in location.

Although they do work infrequently, long distance relationships don’t have a long shelf life. Remember that — and you make the choice that’s right for you.
